Christopher Marvell

Chris is passionate about sculpture. He enjoys the hard physical work and atmosphere of the foundry and the spirit of making things work.

Seeing two goats crated up for California or a fisherman's head bound for Australia gives him a thrill, as does a small fountain carefully sited in an exquisite courtyard.

When starting a sculpture he is never quite sure how it will end up. He always does lots of drawings and macquettes working through to the final big sculpture which he models in plaster then casts in bronze.

His sculptures are figures, birds and animals. His studio working methods have been influenced by George and David two old friends who are builders in his village.

Christopher Marvell's sculptures are sited in public and private locations in the UK, USA, France, Spain and Germany. He has exhibited widely in Britain often with his wife Elaine Pamphilon.

All sculptures are made in bronze and prices range from £1250- £9000.
