Shirin Houston
Shirin was born in Persia one of six children from a well established family. She had an inbuilt drive and determination to study art from an early age and studied Fine art in Persia for three years and then despite language difficulties at the age of 18 came to the UK to continue her artistic studies as a graphic designer. She established her career as a graphic designer and illustrator but her passion was always painting and photography and during her career as a designer she also had several painting exhibitions in London at the Lyric in Hammersmith, Tabernacle in Portabello Road and the Kufa art gallery in Westbourne Grove and Acava studios in Fulham, whilst at the same time having a full family life with her husband Frank, twin daughters and a son.
During the last 10 years she decided that graphic design was no longer the career path she wanted to pursue and turned her attentions full time to painting and photography. Her decision to follow her passion and pursue a career had led to enormous success with exhibitions of the paintings at the Fairfax gallery in Chelsea and Cricket Fine Art.She has also become a well established portrait and fashion photographer with a difference as she captures her subjects in a truly unique way. Most of her clients are well established actors, actresses and household names who have been photographed many times before but Shirin's special magic with the camera has led celebrities to write to her personally commenting that they are enchanted by the way she has captured them on film and inviting her to work with their friends and family.
Household names include Nigella Lawson, Roger Moore, Ruby Wax, Richard & Judy, Julie Walters, Carole Voderman, Dawn French, Sir Michael Parkinson to name but a few.
